69. ANGEL
By dmb101302
She was an abandoned stray who came to me while working in our garden. She kept coming daily so I started feeding her and she was so young, a little over a year the vet said after I took her in , I always told everyone that she "adopted " me in the garden and I couldn't leave her outside because it was getting cold at night so I gave her a "furever" home. Angel and my other cat George that I had before taking her in both helped get me through the loss of my Husband in 2019 to Cancer. Soon after losing my husband, I found out from my vet that my George had Cancer too and I was devastated, after a long, heartbreaking year of all his treatments, I had to let him go because his cancer had gotten worse and he was in congestive heart failure. I lost him on March 10th, 2021 and Angel got me through the grief of losing my George too, our bond became very strong and we were joined in heart and souls together through her diabetes that she was diagnosed with on November 19th, 2020 until this February 2026, that's when I found out she too had cancer and it was highly aggressive and beyond saving her. I was told by the vet that because of her diabetes, the steroid shots were not an option and I had to consider her quality of life now. I was told this on Monday February 2nd, 2026 and that it was going to be very fast because it was very aggressive and beyond treatment, the vet said if she continued to not eat and drink and losing weight to only give her to Friday and if things hadn't changed then it was time. I was devastated and felt like I was in a bad nightmare and if I woke up, Angel would be fine. I was in shock from the news, I brought her home and tried everything to get her to eat by spoon feeding only managed to get very little in her, I struggled daily trying everything to save her , to make her well again because the thoughts of losing her too was tearing my heart out, I was sick with fear, watching my baby go down so fast. Friday morning I was dreading what I had to do but I called her vet and she said, It's time now, bring her in this morning... I don't know how I was able to even drive her to the vet's but I knew I loved her too much to see her suffer anymore. I held her in my arm's telling her how much I loved her and I was so sorry I couldn't save her, I kept telling her I loved her and kissing her holding her tight to my heart, she went very peacefully and when I felt her last breath and heartbeat, my world crashed again. I don't know how I can go on not seeing her here anymore and I struggle to get through every single day, I miss her so much and my whole life has been upended from losing her, no more routines daily like we had, no more special moments we shared, no more bedtime routines and I don't know how to go on without her. She was my everything. My broken heart went to rainbow bridge with her on February 6th, 2026. My baby girl Angel, my world, my heart and soul of life is gone....
No more suffering my beautiful Angel, you are with George and Daddy now and I still feel you with me. I miss you so much, I will be there too when God calls me home. I love you so much, Rest peacefully my Angel. 🐾🐈🙏💋💞😇💔😭
Favorite memory: I will always remember that day when you "adopted " me in our garden and the feel of your soft, warm fur rubbing against my legs and the kisses and head bunt you gave me when I turned and saw you. I cherish that day now more than ever. I loved you your whole life, now I'm missing you the rest of mine... 💔😭🐾🐈😇🫂💋
