Valentine’s Day memorial ideas

Valentine’s Day & Our Pets 💛 Valentine’s Day is often centered around romantic love, but for many of us it can also highlight the love we shared with our pets — the ones who offered comfort, routine, and unconditional companionship. If this day feels a little heavier without them, you’re not alone. And if it feels peaceful or even comforting to remember them, that’s welcome here too. If you’d like to honour your pet this Valentine’s Day, here are a few gentle ideas — take what feels right and leave the rest: • Create a Valentine card for your pet and write them a message • Include your pet’s photo in Valentines you give to loved ones so they’re still part of the tradition • Start a small “Reasons I Loved You” memory jar with pink or red notes • Light a candle or set out their photo, tag, or collar • Draw a heart with their name or paw print inside • Donate treats or toys to a shelter in their name • Place a flower, stuffed heart, or small token in their favourite spot • Make a short photo slideshow or reel of memories (private or shared) • Wear something that reminds you of them — their colour, their tag, or a small symbol There is no “right” way to spend the day. Whether you’re remembering quietly or celebrating their life out loud, both are okay.
